The search for a great slice in Sebring usually ends with a compromise, but the places ahead refuse to settle. You can grab a grandma pie at Zack’s that holds its own against any Tampa shop, then drive ten minutes and find a stone-mining adventure at Lost Mines of Atlantis that has nothing to do with food.

That contrast is the point. This list runs from the meticulous Margherita at Gigio’s, with its blistered crust, to the crispy garlic parmesan wings at Tabby’s that demand a reorder.

We checked the toppings, the crusts, and the hospitality. One spot even serves softball-sized garlic knots.

Consider this your map.

Best NY style in Highlands
Grandma pie and supreme star
Crispy yet juicy hot wings
Amazing pepperoni cups
Kids make their own pizza

Zack's Pizza Sebring is the place I keep circling back to when I want New York style without leaving Highlands County. The grandma pie arrived with a dense, chewy crust and a layer of sauce that tasted like summer tomatoes; the supreme version stacked toppings without losing structural integrity. Pepperoni cups held little pools of oil, which is exactly the kind of detail I look for. The wings came out crispy on the outside, still juicy inside, and hot enough to demand a pause. Kids get to make their own pizza, which explains the happy chaos near the counter. It is unpretentious, consistent, and genuinely satisfying. I left with a plan to return soon. That says enough.

Faded Bistro & Beer Garden surprised me with its quiet confidence. The garden seating is serene, with enough shade and greenery to make you forget you are near a parking lot. Service felt genuinely warm, not performative, and that hospitality carried through the entire meal. The crab cake was delicately seasoned, paired with fries that stayed crisp to the last bite. The smoked Florida Old Fashion is a standout, carrying a subtle woodsy note that complements the bourbon without overwhelming it. I would recommend calling ahead for a table, because the space fills up and the staff clearly wants to give everyone proper attention. This is a place for lingering, not rushing.

Cowpoke's Watering Hole operates with a friendly efficiency that I appreciated from the moment I sat down. The chicken alfredo pasta was creamy without being heavy, and the warm garlic buttery bread made me wish I had ordered two baskets. Service was fast, but nothing felt rushed; plates came out hot and in good order. It is not a fancy room, but the atmosphere feels honest and welcoming. For a straightforward, well-executed meal with people who actually seem to enjoy their work, this place earns its keep. I will be back for that ribeye.

Hand-cut fries came out perfectly crispy, salted just right, and the cinnamon roll pancakes were decadent without being cloying. The owners greeted me like a regular, and that atmosphere of genuine friendliness made the food taste even better. Everything arrived cooked precisely, from the eggs to the toast. Flavorful pulled pork sandwich
Crisp, toasty sandwich bread
Quick counter service with table delivery

Fairmount Cafe operates with a counter service model that flows smoothly into table delivery, and the staff kept checking in without hovering. My fish and shrimp arrived hot, the batter crisp and flaky, and the seafood inside stayed moist. The pulled pork sandwich had a tangy, smoky depth, served on bread that was toasted to a satisfying crunch. That crispness mattered; it held up against the juicy meat and sauce without turning soggy. The service was friendly and attentive, with a rhythm that suggests the staff knows their regulars by name. For a quick lunch that does not sacrifice quality, this place handles the details correctly. I left full and impressed by the consistency.

Lost Mines of Atlantis turned out to be more of an adventure than I expected, though not for the pizza. The staff greeted me warmly and offered free extras that made the whole experience feel generous. The large stone mining buckets are substantial, and the family ownership clearly knows their rocks; they pointed me toward the massive agatized coral collection, which is worth a look even if you are not a geology buff. There is a cash discount available, and the friendly, knowledgeable conversation made the stop worthwhile. This is a place that rewards curiosity, and the hospitality felt genuine rather than scripted. I left with a few polished stones and a better appreciation for Florida's mineral history. Worth the detour.

The interactive exhibits kept kids engaged in ways that did not require a screen, which felt refreshing. Adults can enjoy the hands-on displays too, and I found myself lingering over a few of the creative stations longer than I expected. The space is designed for exploration, and the staff seemed genuinely invested in helping families have a good time. It is a constructive addition to a day that might otherwise revolve around meals. Pair it with a lunch stop nearby, and you have a solid afternoon. Just be prepared for the kids to want to stay longer.

Huge, softball-sized garlic knots
Godfather slice with prosciutto
Best stromboli in years
Friendly, personal counter service

Solorzano's Pizzeria Sebring, tucked into the Lakeshore Mall, serves slices that taste like they came off a New York street corner. The garlic knots are huge, roughly softball-sized, and they arrive glistening with butter and herbs. The Godfather slice layers prosciutto over a sturdy crust, and each bite carries a salty, savory punch. The stromboli was the best I have had in years, with a crisp exterior and a filling that stayed molten without turning greasy. Counter service felt personal, like the guy behind the register actually cared about my order. This is not a fancy room, but the food does the talking. I would cross town for these slices again.

Generous fresh toppings throughout
Quality from sauce to cheese
Sweet sauce with crispy crust
Welcoming, hearty customer service

Pizzano's Pizza and Grinderz gives you a choice between thick and thin crusts, and both arrive with a satisfying crispness that shows care in the baking. The toppings are generous and fresh, spread evenly enough that every slice delivers the same quality. The sauce leans sweet, which pairs nicely with the salty cheese and the crunch of the crust. Customer service here is hearty and welcoming, the kind of place where they remember your name after one visit. I tried the thin crust and found it sturdy enough to hold up under a heavy load of toppings, which is not always the case. This is a reliable spot for a no-fuss, well-made pizza. It earns a regular rotation.

Gigio's Pizza Sebring has become my go-to pizza spot, and the Margherita is the reason. The traditional version arrived with a blistered crust, fresh basil, and a mozzarella that pulled in long, elastic strands. Portions of quality ingredients were generous without being excessive. The Tuscany and New Orleans flatbreads both impressed, each with distinct flavor profiles that kept me reaching for another slice. The kitchen clearly respects technique, from the dough fermentation to the oven temperature. Service was warm and efficient, making the whole experience feel unhurried. For someone who takes pizza seriously, this place hits the mark consistently. I have already planned my next visit, and that is the highest compliment I can offer.

Tabby's 2 Go & Catering serves homemade garlic parmesan wings that are worth the trip alone; the sauce clings to each wing with a sharp, savory bite. The potato skins are another highlight, crispy and loaded in a way that makes you want to order a second round. Service is warm, and the staff seems genuinely pleased to see you, though I did need to double-check my order since they had two similar bags ready. The food arrived hot and well-packed, which matters when you are planning to eat at home. It is not glamorous, but it is honest cooking with attention to flavor. I would return for those wings without hesitation. Just confirm your order before you leave.
